We adore Chicago…….
and we started on Clark Street in Andersonville.
The scouting is good, the people are friendly, and the food is marvelous.
Blogging from this beautiful hamlet, we have some favorite shops to share with you.
This place is a shangri la of clean urban finds.
….and not only that, but the owner is a really super guy. Friendly, kind and fun to talk to. That counts too in our book. The scouts are fairly priced and the collection is well curated.
The Brown Elephant
If you’re looking for diamonds in the rough, there are few places better than this joint. And what’s more, the profits go to a great cause in funding programs to ensure those who are under insured or uninsured have access to healthcare services.
Now, with 230 square miles of territory and over 100 thrift stores in Chicago, thrifting is not for the faint of heart. It’s best to choose a destination and make it a day, otherwise you will be swallowed up by traffic.
On Clark Street, though the Brown Elephant and SCOUT are on opposite ends of the Super Finds Spectrum, there are many shops in-between.
Stay tuned, we’ll be back by days end and share some of our best finds.
Cliffhanger……..
Sounds fun! Happy Scouting!
