We think she’s the perfect combination.
Her bones were good, her springs were sound, and her finish was just a little elbow grease away from delicious. We rescued her from CraigList and had this amazing fabric in the “we can’t wait to use this” queue. We loved the raised look of the springs on the seat and agreed that a deeper stain would be the perfect compliment to her new modern dress.
The final decision, how to trim her up. Scouting in New York, we found the perfect suede-like fabric at Mood Fabrics in deep pink to finish the back and edge the front. This was a challenge as piping would not work on this flat application. Many antique pieces are not constructed to suit modern-day upholstery solutions……….but we nailed it, at least we think so.
We haven’t found another out there like it…and you can see more details photos in the shoppe.
