clothespin planters DIY {a wicked good idea.}

by sara & stacy on March 22, 2012

For each herb planter, you only need four things…

• One 5 oz Tuna Can

• 21 Clothespins

• Dark Walnut Stain Marker

• Oil-Rubbed Bronze Spray Paint

1.  Stain the clothespins

2.  Eat a tuna sandwich and paint the empty cans

3.  Once the cans were completely dry, assemble the planters! Just clip the pins onto the cans and make sure the edges of the pins are touching each other on the inside of the can. That will make them nice and evenly spaced on the outside.Add herbs or a tea light.  I prefer this option as I’m likely to kill every plant I touch.

Thank you for this awesome idea. My mother recently passed away and I was looking for a way to recycle her special clothes pins. I have so many memories of her hanging clothes on the line when I was little.
I’m going to make these for my 3 sisters and give them on Mother’s Day in honor of our wonderful mom :)
